The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

Q

I have a question about titanium dental implants. Are they radioactive? My wife has had two dental implants in her lower jawbone since 2005. Since then she had our two kids. Our concern is whether the dental titanium implants are a radiation issue for our kids when they were in utero and when my wife was breast-feeding them.

A

There is and will be no radiation exposure to your wife or kids from the dental implants. Titanium is not radioactive. Although small amounts of uranium were used in the past in dental crowns and dentures to make the ceramic look more natural, this practice stopped in the early 1980s.
